2005 Renteria Carneros Knittle Vineyard Pinot Noir $34

This elegant pinot has beautiful aromatics and impressive complex flavors. Dried flowers and red raspberries on the nose with flavors of strawberry jam, red currants, cinnamon, tea, and a touch of clove on the palate. The tannins are silky smooth. Takes about 30 minutes for the alcohol to settle down. I would buy again. J.W.

It took about 45 minutes for it to start showing. It opened up with tart cherry and raspberry fruit wraped in hints of anise and meat flavors. Very nice red with a rich mid palate. It was really changing in the glass. There was good acidity and nice firm tannins although when I had it the following day it softened up. I will buy again. J.W.
