I'm often suprised by the quality of the 20 to 30 dollar range pinots from California and this one was without doubt one of quality and value. I was initially a little disapointed but once 30 minutes passed the wine came alive and showed wonderful fruit and baking spices. Cranberries and orange peel on the nose with just a hint of some sort of herb... maybe tarragon and rosemary. Very distinct and hard to describe. Strawberry, cherry and cranberry fruit in the mouth with soft nutmeg spice and buttered cinnamon toast. Open, fleshy style with good acid. Deep violet red color. 13.6% alcohol. J.W.
